When you order through House of Shades, your project doesn’t get handed off to a generic factory somewhere. It goes to this workroom, where the people doing the work know who it’s for.
Dressed To Kill produces custom drapes in every major heading style — pinch pleat, ripple fold, euro pleat, goblet, grommet, inverted pleat, and tab-top. Panels are fabricated to the specified finished width and drop, with fullness calculated based on the chosen heading and fabric weight. Every seam is sewn straight. Every pleat is pressed and set by hand. Lead weights are added to hem corners when required for proper hang.
Where drapery tends toward formal, custom curtains cover a wider range of the style spectrum — from casual linen panels in a guest bedroom to structured blackout curtains in a media room. Dressed To Kill handles the full range, cutting each panel to the precise measurements submitted with the order and finishing hems and headers to the appropriate standard for the fabric and application.

Standard custom drapery typically takes 3–5 weeks from the time the order is submitted and fabric has been received. Complex projects — pattern-matched multi-panel installations, interlined treatments for large windows, or motorization-integrated systems — may take longer. Your House of Shades consultant will provide a production timeline when the order is placed.
In some cases, yes. Designer-supplied fabric is accepted when the yardage has been ordered correctly, the repeat information has been provided, and the fabric has been inspected for flaws before fabrication begins. Dressed To Kill fabricates all standard and specialty pleat styles, including pinch pleat (2- and 3-finger), euro pleat, goblet pleat, ripple fold, grommet, tab-top, flat panel, and inverted box pleat.
